Hi

I have an austrian shell, in vermel silver and enamel. the only hallmark i can see is a zig-zag inside the shell, and searching in this forum i see one similar, from austria 1780. Can you help me to confirm that's right?

The other one its a chalice, i understand its austro-hungary, but i cant see any hallmark on it, so i dont know year and country where made. Can you help me with this?

many thanks

Assay- groove (zig-zag is not a hallmark), gouged with a plane, in silver and gold in order to determine the content of the noble metal by means of the material cut away.
Has been approved, the content than the silver marks and characters city could be beaten in the article.
Later this technique was used by counterfeiters to make an object appear older.
