I would like to know more about the small plateau mirror, 7.5 inches diameter. It is marked A. P. 800 followed by an impressed symbol. On the bottom it has a (makers ?) name in a long rectangular form, of which only the first letters BOD, and possibly K are legible. BODK. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
A.P. 800 does not help much, and the mark starting with BOD...either.
But there is a mark on the right that could be deciphered. Close up image is needed, though.
Regards

The impressed mark to the right cannot be fully made out even with a loupe, or photo'd. The tiny cartouche has 6 sides. Inside is most likely the letter A, with flourishes. But I could be wrong.

Hi Kathryn,

Try cleaning the mark and then if you are unable to capture an image of it, try drawing what you can see and photograph the drawing.

This is what I got photo'd with IPhone through my loupe. This seemed better than my drawing. The shape of the impressed mark is a not quite symmetrical hexagon. Thanks

Dear Kathryn!
Your little mark is an import mark from Austria-Hungary between 1891-1901. The letter "A" in your mirror means the assay office of Wien.

One more question.

Since this bears an Austro-Hungary import (as opposed to export) mark, was it made somewhere else? It was suggested that the A.P. 800 is an Italian province and standard mark?

More likely imported from Germany.A.P. is maker`s mark. Too early for Italian provinces mark incorporating registration number etc.
