Tiffany Silver Flatware question

I was curious if, with Tiffany flatware, the casing of the M on the back of the spoon is important when concerned with dating when the piece was actually manufactured. What I mean is...as an example, i've seen a lot of the Tiffany Japanese pattern pieces marked with either a lower case or an upper case M before the other information is given. I know that with their holloware a small m and a large M can have a date range difference of quite a few years, so I was curious if this marking difference also applied to their flatware. Here's some examples...
