I can't locate in information related to the marks on the back of this spoon that has been in our family since atleast 1880. Also the I'm not sure about the initials on the handle that appear I L W or T L W

That is always a difficult question to answer. Costly to who? To the average person, probably only mildly so -- Bradbury sold a great deal of such goods to judge by how many pieces I see on a monthly basis and Newburyport was a good-sized, but by no means large city. It was, however, quite a prosperous one on the whole. There is also the question of value for value; I suspect that you could eat several dinners on the cost of one spoon, but the spoon would give many years of service, so would be relatively cheap, even when dear.
