Hello, we have found this object that we think is called a loving cup, but we have no idea why it has the royal emblem on it and what the mark stands for. It looks like it says Electro and then probably a couple of more letters after the dot in the center, and then there is a crown and over the crown it says something like REGP but we are at all not sure. Could anyone help? It's a lovely little cup and it looks old.

Hi Victoria,

It's a tyg (see: http://www.925-1000.com/silverglossary5.html), in this case, made as a coronation souvenir. The 'REGd' is an abbreviation indicating a registered design.

The maker was the Potosi Silver Co. of Birmingham. See: http://www.925-1000.com/silverplate_P2.html

Only guessing, but I would think George V and Queen Mary, 1911.
