I've used your website and this forum for a lot of great help identifying silver. Thank you! This is my first time posting.

I have a gilt ladle. It is not labeled sterling, but looks like it (please tell me if I am posting in the wrong spot). It's about 14.5" long. I'm not even positive it's American, but it is with a lot of other old silver flatware that is almost all American.

You are far more likely to get responses if you embed your images as very few people will click on thumbnails or links.

I have embedded the image of the mark. It was upside down, I guess. This makes sense as ‚‚13 Loth‚‚ fineness used in Austria-Hungary before 1867 and Germany before 1886.
That`s all I can tell.

Wow . . . thanks for the quick and helpful response. I thought about the number 13, but wasn't sure, and I didn't know about 13 Loth as a fineness grade. So, the number 13 meant nothing to me. Now it does! I suppose it's not all that unusual to have pieces from that era that don't have a maker's mark. Thanks for your help.
