Dear collegues,

Am I right thinking it is old French silver 900 hallmark: peakock in pentagon? Thank you much if you have some ideas.

I found this filigree brooch in Montenegro.

Thanks,
Olga

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
I suppose it`s filigree.
The mark is ``cockerel`` for small articles used in Yugoslavia since 1933 (Kingdom of Yugoslavia at the time).
Will try to find an example for comparison.
Regards

(The position of Roman numeral ‚‚II‚‚ for .900 fineness has changed its position in the meantime).

Hi,
The origin of every filigree master was in Prizren, Kosovo. They still have a school for young apprentices.
Take a look here.

Unfortunately, filigree in silver is not fashionable any more and the production declined.
Based on the marks, your filigree must be of older production. It`s impossible to identify the maker but definitively originating from Prizren.
There is centuries long tradition within Christian Albanian families.

Hello, yes, your are totally right: small details of filigree of Prizren masters are the same as in my brooch: twist, granulation, the thickness of silver wire...
