This 1847 Rogers Bros Heraldic stand shallow bowl? has narrow top for todays cakes. 8 1/2" shallow bowl the center is 1" lower than the rim. While I think I figured out the pattern Heraldic, I have not figured out the usage. The herald does not show easily in the photos, I am wondering if I should polish or leave tarnished?

Hi,
Rogers Bros of Hartford, CT, founded 1847, therefore the founding year in the name.
Take a look here.

00307 is of no importance, factory inventory, serial or pattern number.
Being silver - plated it should be cleaned with care, no abrasive.
Regards

Oh, you asked about the usage. It’s dish warmer. I suppose the top plate is removable. The bottom basin would be used to fill with hot water, so the food on the plate would stay warm.
Regards
