Hallo.
Can you give me the name of the product which you use to clean silver?
I use recently mp 52 and I must unfortunately say that at the beginning of silver looks beautiful, but after a few days it is getting to the ugly yellow something . It looks nasty.
This is not a normal patina only fragrant yellow onion :) raid
After cleaning product, rinse the object itself with water or with soap and water?

Re: Product which you use to clean silver
To answer you question, I use the local product available here, Sigolin.
After using, I handpolish with 100% cotton. No rinse, neither with or without soap.
The theory behind is, the cleaning product leaves a protective coating, slowing down the tarnishing process.
I would try this, no rinsing. And, search for agressive athmosphere where you store the item. Is there sulfur in the air? Smoking, or other smoke sources? Or do you have the item close to "agressive" food, like vegetables?
And to the administrator: No idea why the pictures are upside down, sorry...

Re: Product which you use to clean silver
Hi,
Very good observation in regard of smoke.
The ingredients are soap, ammonia and alcohol.
``Polierkoerper`` literally ``polishing particles`` is jeweler`s extremely mild abrasive in the solution.
No magic, but works and protects if not rinsed.
There is another effective method: use silver every day, eat and drink, then wash it.
(Of course, there are valuable and old pieces not to be used).
