Italian maker on modern handwrought bowl

Hi All,

Got a puzzler here. The bowl is fairly modern, sometime in the last 40 years at a guess, it is a handwrought piece with repousse domes and has a hammered finish and is about 8in. in diameter. The marks indicate it is Italian .800 silver made in Florence. The maker's mark - BR and the seal are a mystery. The seal says Iohannes B, which I think is supposed to represent John the Baptist in latin.
Anybody know the maker?

Thanks, IO

the maker is Brandimarte - Firenze (Florence)
The piece was made after 1960.
The seal is the maker's mark of Brandimarte (a well known Italian silversmith).
You may see other Brandimarte pieces (and photos) on my private

Giorgio,
Thanks so much, with your information I was able to find the maker's site on the web. It is always so interesting to learn about the origins of a piece you have always wondered about.
I also visited your website, you have a wonderful collection.
Thanks again,
IO
