I came across a beautiful piece of bracelet, stamped M&S 958 Birmingham and the seller believed it's from the 90's. She didn't know anything about the maker M&S more than it's not Marks & Spencer. Does someone have an idea?

Hi,
An image of the marks is required.

Oh, I'm sorry! Of course, here it is. It's hard to see, though...

I zoomed in on the marks and I think the one to the right has both an anchor and the letter L next to it? This should mean it's from 1985, however I read that they didn't start marking silver with "958" before 1999? Before then it was just the old Britannia lady hallmark.

Hi,
Honestly, I have never seen anchor and date letter within the same cartouche.
Even very small items like thimbles have separate marks. And jewelry, too.
Regards

Hi,
I believe on imported Britannia std silver post 1904 it would have been marked .9584 and post 1975 .958.

My eyes could be fooling me as the marks are very blurry... Shouldn't it be a mark for imported if this is the case?

So what could it be if it's both the letter and anchor in the same cartouche? Could it be all fake? I'm worried... It's hard to tell from the picture but the anchor looks really small and placed to the right in the cartouche?

I don't think it's imported? The modern mark for Britannia silver is the one in the picture (958) which replaced the lady in the cartouche in 1999.
