Help with marks please.

I have this silver letter opener and would like to know more about it I think it may be Russian but I am probably wrong
the hallmark is not very good but I can make out the 925 silver numbers.

Hi, I can read the initials "JV" and the first name "JACOBO", and yes, this is a piece from Taxco, Mexico. Hope this helps you a little.

J.N. Jacopo (I know, it looks like Jacobo, and that's an "N" not a "V").
"The Jacopo brothers operated a silverhouse in Mexico City called Arte en Plata, later to be renamed as Joyas de Plata. Many items they sold were made by independent silversmiths located in Taxco." (Mexican Silver Hallmarks book)
