Hi,

I've been sent some images by a friend seeking information regarding this silver bowl:

The bowl is 4" (10cm) across the top.

Any information gratefully received.

Can it be Persian of 19 century? Look to this bowl: (admin edit - see Posting Requirements )
It looks like people have the same dress.

Hello
Its definitely Iranian (Persian).
I have seen a number of pieces with this style of very fine engraving (ie with the musicians and revelers).
Some have been unmarked, some have the makers marks in Farsi / Arabic and interestingly some pieces have had the makers name written in armenian. The writing on this piece is Farsi / Arabic but I can't really read it
The stones are probably turquoise and I have seen turquoise stones used like this on a couple of Iranian pieces albeit of different styles.
It is probably 84% pure but it might well be 90%
It is hard to date it but if I had to guess I might say late 19th century / early 20th. I have seen cigarette and Cheroot cases in the style which would date from this period.
I don't know whether this style is typical of any particular region of Iran but in time maybe we can learn more about that.
Its a nice thing and I am pleased to see it
Thank you
