Could anyone please give us some ideas as to the origin of this silver galleon? - someone has suggested a portuguese link but we don't know anything about it other than it was given to my great grandfather to settle a debt. It's sails are at present not attached but one of them is shown in the photoImageImage

many thanks

The marks you show are London import marks for 1927, which may or may not be concurrent with manufacture; I think they are. It's definitely a revivalist piece and looks distinctly German to me. Barring any other marks or better close-up photos, my best guess would be Hanau, Germany, first quarter 20th century, the time and place where these "historical" silver pieces were made in abundance.
