Have a question on unmarked silver vs silver plate

Good afternoon, hope I can get a little advice here as I am in a quandry over a flask I purchased. It is unmarked, no hallmarks, only thing it has is a number 30 on the bottom...It is very tarnished, extremely so, I polished the bottom alittle and it shined right up...my question is since there is no maker marks, hallmarks, silver marks, etc, is there such a thing as real silver being unmarked in the case of a flask? I acid tested it with a scratch stone using 18k acid and 5 hard heavy scratches, and tested the fifth scratch, and the mark stays and turns pure white...I looked all over with a loop and no markings, and where I scratched it on the stone I did not see any copper or brass color coming through...I hate to put acid directly on it...it is non magnetic as well, so basically just wondering if anyone has ever seen a flask that was real silver, and not plated, with no hallmarks? thanks all
Bill
