Dutch hallmarks;
1.) Gz conjoined. The maker's mark for; Ned. Fabriek van Gouden en Zilveren Werken formerly J. A. A Gerritsen n.v., registered in the cities Amsterdam and Zeist and this particular mark used around 1908-1924.
2.) Lion passant for 2nd standard silver .833 fineness
3.) Minerva head or office mark regional assay office letter B for Utrecht
4.) Year letter I for 1918

In 1903 Johannes Albertus Adolf Gerritsen(1840-1925) founded N.V. de Nederlandsche Fabriek van gouden en zilveren werken, (formar J.A.A. Gerritsen); his sons Johannes Albertus (Albert) (1874-1946) and Marius Johannes (1882-1954) also worked in the factory. Since c. 1895 the company was established at the Looiersgracht in Amsterdam; in 1904 it moved to Zeist (Karpervijver). (Marius left the company in 1909 and founded the Eerste Nederlandsche Fabriek van Nieuw-Zilverwerken van M.J. Gerritsen en Co., together with Julius ter Beek (1888-1967). From c. 1930 on the company was named Gerofabriek). In 1925 Anton E. van Kempen (1893-1970) left K.N.E.B. Van Kempen & Begeer and joined the company of Gerritsen in Zeist as one of the managing directors. From then on the official name became N.V. Nederlandsche fabriek van Gouden en Zilveren werken Gerritsen & Van Kempen. 1n 1960 the company merged with K.N.E.B. Van Kempen, Begeer en Vos.
