I need help getting the age and info on a group that I have. It is a tea/coffee service, silverplate, marked mnf'd and plated by Reed and Barton---- 2712---- Gilt. 2712 is the pattern number (I assume). I have searched high and low and have found no info regarding this pattern number. It is very old (or very used). Flowers lightly engraved on the fronts of pieces and the banding around the top includes a greek key-like design and winged griffins. The service includes a large urn with burner. Two tea/coffe pots and four other assorted service pieces. Any info would be great! Thanks!

A later posting with surviving photos may help...similar markings including word "Gilt" and dating from 1880 with production through c.1885..pattern 3030: http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic ... ern#p30652

Assuming no major changes in assigning sequential numbering up through this period, we might estimate pattern 2712 to be from approximate era 1875-1880?? (And only when with these type marks.)
