Hello,
I bought this candleholder from an antique store in Perpignan, France. Is this a French silver mark? From when does it date?

Hi,
That appears to be a set of continental pewter marks.

Thanks Trev, I didn't know the difference between pewter and silver marks. Would you know roughly from when it dates?
I appreciate your help,
Armo

Hi Armo,
I don't, I'm afraid. Hopefully another member may recognise them.

Pewter is well out of my area of expertise, but these appear to be 18th century Strasbourg pewter marks with the maker's mark (the stork with "LW") of Leonard Wehrlen II (fl. 1731-1784). But best get this into the hands of someone who knows these things better than I.
