Hi, I would like to ask for help identifying a golden ring. From what I found out, the hallmarks means 18k gold from Cairo, but I am not able to decode the date. It is not an "english" letter, so it is not 1917-1939, but i also does not seem to be an arabic letter. The ring is old, so could it be 19th centrury?
Any help will be appreciated

Hi,
18 carat gold,Cairo, after 1940.National ``bird`` mark for gold (ibis or seagull).
It is date letter in Arabic, but difficult to decipher due to inconsistent use of lines and dots.
Regards

@AG2012 - thank youm. After spending some time trying to compare it with an arabic alphabet, I came to a conclusion, that it most resembles an ending variant of a letter "tha" (1943-1944). But what about years before 1916? Did they use completely different marks?
