ID Help Request - Is this a pin tray?

Hello:
Not sure if this sterling hallmarked piece is a pin tray or something else altogether.
Hallmark is fairly well worn besides.

Got it! It's the tray for a nail buffer (part of a vanity set).

Sorry, I don't know what the purpose of the tray is. Someone else should be able to fill you in on that.
