Greetings
I am new to this site and apologize in advance for any unintended transgressions in protocol !!

I here attach two photos. One of the item, a box roughly 140 x 9 x 4 cm.
Can anyone offer an idea as to what it's purpose was(tobacco ??), where it was made?

(admin edit - see Posting Requirements )

Thanks in advance

Hi,Welcome to the forum.
I have embedded your images.
It`s a tobacco case made in Germany after 1886.
The mark on the left is German national mark for silver``Reichsmark``(crescent moon and crown).
Standard .800 (fineness 80% silver in the alloy).
The mark on the right is maker`s mark I cannot identify.
No appraisals here.
We`ll gladly answer your questions, but be so kind to embed your images next time.
Regards
