Conflicting dates on officers gorget?

According to the JSHAR the Coat of arms is that that used from 1801 to 1816 with the Hanoverian Electoral cap above the central escutcheon



The Hallmarks appear to read: Maker Michael Keating II reg 1851, Sterling .925 for Dublin, City Mark for Dublin, Duty Mark Queen Victoria, Date Mark 1848. (Open to correction I am just a beginner in reading hallmarks)



Gorgets were abolished by decree of King William IV in 1830. However, they were permitted to be worn by officers in England up to Christmas 1831 and by those abroad until 1832

At some time that must have been recinded as a serving officer has informed me that a gorget may still be worn by the Duty Officer

So all sorts of conflicting issues

Any thoughts or comments would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

That is another of the gorgets from the collection that I purchased could you verify if I am reading the hallmarks correctly? The provenance on the collection is well known and verified.Thanks.

Yes you have read the hallmark correctly - Michael Keating, 1848.
