London Caddy Spoon - Pewter or Silver ?

Could forum members help me to identify the caddy spoon. It appears that the lion head
could mean silver (it looks very similar to one from 1700), however it is more like pewter.

It weights about 40 grams. Please find the images attached.

Sorry for the URL image links, I think I don't have yet the option to embed images to the post itself.

Thank you,
Paul

Hi,
X was a quality mark on British pewter. It was crowned until 18th century.
Usually one can easily tell the difference between two metals, pewter being very soft.

Interesting , it looks like there are some traces of "crown" above the "X" ,not very visible probably because of the spoon's shape.
Does it mean that this spoon most likely dates to 18th century.
Thanks,
Paul
