I've found a pair of tongs that seem new but, following the trail of hallmarks, seem to be older.

I have saved,cropped and embedded your images with the marks, which are as follows:
From top on the left: leopard's head uncrowned for London Assay Office,lion passant for sterling, date letter f for 1821,duty mark George III.
On the right maker`s mark W.B of William Bateman I

AG2012: Thank you for reformatting my images, re-posting them, and deciphering the hallmarks.

I believe they came from my father's modest estate and I can only wonder how he acquired them in Winston-Salem, NC.

At least there is no longer any mystery as to their age, composition, and maker!
