Last spoon was German, any idea on maker and time on this spoon?

The other spoon I posted turned out to be German, so I'm wondering if this one might be too? I was thinking it would date to the 1790s or so, but there is a date inscribed as 1844. It is really that new, or was the inscription done later? Any idea who the silversmith it? Thanks for any help! (I apologize if this is elsewhere, I put both spoons in the same original post and this one (the second), may have been moved elsewhere but I couldn't find it.)

there was a goldsmith Wendt in Loitz
mentioned in 1822 and 1848

So, we have the name of the maker :-)

J.G.Wendt
