I would greatly appreciate your help in identifying the silversmith of this lovely glass bottle. The silversmith mark is stamped twice on the object. The mark is initials MV with a symbol that looks like coffee pot, perhaps it is a pot a lait or mustard pot? I cannot tell which, but it certainly looks like an item for serving as there is a little handle and tiny spout.

Your scent or smelling salts bottle was made in the French provinces after 1838, as indicated by the mark under Minerva’s chin. If you could sharpen up the mark, you may be able to determine the place of manufacture.
Good luck in your continuing research on this object.

It appears to be the mark of Moïse Vierny

Do not agree that this is the mark of Vierny, for the following reasons:
-Minerva has a symbol under her chin indicating that this is a provincial maker. The Ministry of Culture website you reference covers only Paris makers registered after 1878.
-Vierny’s symbol is a chessman, whereas the symbol of the maker on this item does not resemble a chessman, in my opinion.
