I have a set of six teaspoons all displaying the same silver marks. Tried my best to research them and believe them to be Robert Peppin but I can't see a date mark that looks a good match on any lists. I am unsure if it is a d or a p!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You are going to have to include a larger image of the hallmark - the one you have embedded in you query is far too small to see any detail.

Thanks for replying, I have tried but will take a closer photo of the hallmark shortly and see if that helps.

The date letter is in the same orientation as the duty mark so it's "d": 1819.

The confirmation that this is the work of the firm of Robert Peppin is the addition of the journeymen's mark. This occurs only in the larger workshops where keeping track of who actually made the item was important.

It is thought likely that Peppin was an extensive producer of flatware as his Grenville Street premises were taken over, c.1830, by the prolific flatware manufacturer, William Eaton, when he moved out of Lovell's Court and he would have required large workshops, such was his output.
