Hi
I know this is a bit of a longshot due to these marks being worn and compressed, but does anybody think they can identify the maker and possibly the date letter?
Many Thanks
Martin

The date letter could be "T" for 1774. The visible parts, especially the "tail" would fit in the character. Not sure about the maker's mark. Is it W+something (for example WF for William Fearn) or upside down BM?

Thanks for the reply, I think 1774 is probably a good shout. As for the maker,I am leaning towards either WE or WF but I could be wrong.

I think WB or WH look more likely. No standout candidates for these initials but William Barrett I, smallworker, entered 9/3/1771 and with a long career through to at least 1793, is a good possibility.

Thanks for the observations Phil, I have attached another image of the mark but am not sure if it is any more useful.
