It was advertised as “russian” and also it comes from an ex Soviet state. 85 can be a hallmark for silver in Russia.

Sorry to say this, but on these sites it has been stated many times that "Believe only in your eyes on your own knowledge. If you you don't know what you intend to buy, don't!" Unfortunately the seller usually tells you incredible stories of an objects origin. Only in order to distract you. The mark on your cane has nothing to do with neither Russia nor Soviet.

What state may I ask or were you satisfied with only "ex Soviet origin"!? Unfortunately you have been fed with typical seller's nonsense sales pitch.
