Trying to identify where this teaspoon is from? It has a small fiddle end and a really heavy bowl making it a little odd. It has a makers mark of MA and has other stamped letters plus the owners initial of M on the other side.

If anyone can help it would be great to finally solve the mystery as I’ve had this a while now.

Thanks,

Matt.

Hi Matt,

I believe that is a Maltese assayer's mark, probably between 1722 and 1773.

Wow that is a surprise! Thanks Trev. It’s not often I get to find any Maltese silver let alone something that old, really pleased!
