I have an Empire cabaret with silver hallmark from different periods.
Hallmark with the letter P from 1793-1798 (1794)
A rooster mark with the number 1 from 1809-1819
Guarantee mark from 1809-1819
Crab guarantee mark from 1838, and the mark of the Parisian silversmith Ambroise Mignerot, who, according to the literature, was active in the years 1800-1817.
The fact that there are later guarantee marks does not bother me, but why are there marks from the end of the 18th century, if the goldsmith was active from the 19th century?

I wonder why this bug with dating this mark has been functioning for so long and still.

It is a persistent error that the "Greek woman's head mark" was used only in the late 18th century; see this thread - Antique Oil and Vinegar Set - for more information. The mark is known to have appeared on pieces up to the 1830s. Your (very attractive) piece dates to 1809-1819, as noted.
