Carl Resch senior, Brasov, Kronstadt

Carl (Carolus) Resch senior, son of Laurentius Resch, goldsmith, trained by his stepfather, Thomas Kasten between 1831 and 1835. On February 7, 1841, he presented his works, a silver jug, a gold brooch, and a pair of earrings. He was a guildmaster from 1854 onwards for years. His son, Carolus Resch junior was his apprentice between 1858 and 1862. Carl Resch died in 1905.
In 1850, the town had 21,782 inhabitants: 8,874 (40.7%) Germans, 8,727 (40%) Romanians, 2,939 (13.4%) Hungarians.
