I just found this napkin ring at a yard sale and bought it because it was cute. The inside is marked with a knight holding a shield and the word Sterling next to it. I looked through this site and saw something similar "Simson" I think, which was bought out by International Silver, but it didn't match exactly. The knight has a feather and the shield does have a letter on it......which I think is an S but I can't really tell. Thank you for all the information you can provide.

The "plumed knight with shield S" mark used by Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co. on their sterling flatware continued to be used on sterling by the International Silver Co. after the two firms merged in 1898.

It does happen that drawings don't exactly match what appears on a piece in "real life." If you'd like to describe the differences in a new post, or submit a photo, I'm sure someone will be glad to help if he/she can.
