Jacobus Bontekoe Leeuwarden 18th century Occasion spoon

This was a fun find. I believe it is by Jacobus Bontekoe of Leeuwarden who worked from 1736 to maybe 1769? I have seen this terminal on later 19th-century Dutch spoons but not on 18th-century ones so it was a fun find.

I believe you are right with your assumption. Spoon terminal or finial represents Devoted Love.

Background information Jacobus Bontekoe. Baptized in Leeuwarden on 14 Oct. 1714. Son of Nathanaƫl Harmanus Bontekoe. Married in 1737 to Riemke Wijngaarden. Citizen of the city of Leeuwarden in 1729. Master in 1736. Last mention: 1769 (conviction for continuous drunkenness).

ok, having read some more (witness testimonials), his drunkenness is not funny but sad
