Can someone tell me what these hallmarks mean on my mother's demitasse spoons? I'm assuming the passant lion means sterling silver. Is the H is a date mark? what date(s)? Is the next one a shield? what does it mean? JW&Co is that referring to John Wigfall & Co? If so I can't find that he made demitasse spoons with patterns. Anyone know the pattern name? Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Please embed your images rather than using links. Note that Google is not a suitable photo host.

https://postimages.org is recommended (click 'Share', then copy and paste the 'Hotlink for forums' code to embed your images). Do not use Photobucket or Dropbox.

Post images won't let me create an account, the website says it will send me a link but never does. Is there another one that you can recommend?

I figured out how to post an image without making an account. Hopefully the images can be seen now. I see them on my end. Sorry for my ignorance earlier.

JW&Co is Josiah Williams & Co, a Bristol company with a long history. The lion passant is the hallmarked guarantee of sterling silver and the other 2 marks are the (somewhat rubbed) uncrowned leopard's head for London and the date letter H for the assay year 1943/44.
