Baffled by Sheffield mark

Have never come across this mark before - can the experts weigh in, please? I tried to insert a photo, but the help section was equally baffling - so I’ll attempt to describe it: the silver creamer is marked “Made in Sheffield, England” and there is a small, inverted triangle (it actually looks like it’s an inverted trapezoid shape) with what appears to be a small case letter l inside.
