What an extensive compilation of hallmarks! As I am a bonafide noob on these things, this site is a treasure trove of great information and images. I’m enthralled and will continue to learn.
I’ve searched this forum exhaustively (in my mind). I think I’ve came close, but have to leave it at that. I didn’t want to ask, I’m sure it’s here somewhere. I’ve gone cross eyed looking so much, I’m gonna hand it to you all.
Lion passant, the city mark I’m going to say Chester, as it’s mushy. Looks close. I searched all locales. Alas! the date stamp H looks just like Chester! I don’t think this is that old though. But who knows?
Back story on this chain can be answered, as I didn’t want to add pic of the charm YET. It’s another topic in itself. I wanted to pin this down first. Can’t find much on the S-LC .
*Note the impression of “SIL” coming through opposite hallmarks - short for “silver”? Thank you all in advance!
