Hi there!

I just picked up this ring to save it from melting and the jeweler I got it from and I cannot figure out these hallmarks. We initially thought Birmingham, but with the 14k mark...she said she didn't think that made sense. Wondering if y'all would be so kind to share your expertise. It seems to have quite a few folks dumbfounded.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/BTTY2J241w8bqPN1A <--- shared album on Google Photos with multiple shots of the hallmarks.

Thank you in advance for your help. This ring with rose cut garnets sure is precious regardless but it'd be so cool to solve this mystery.

Hi,

That's great.

It's Canadian. Anchor, Maple leaf, Lion passant, 14k. This was the trade mark of P.W. Ellis & Co. of Toronto. If you look closely at the maple leaf you will see the letter 'E' in the centre.

Whoa! That's it!! I'm going to start googling them now. Did they make a lot of gold jewelry? So fascinating!
