Post by shelina »

Hi - I'm pretty sure this pendant is Mexican - could be wrong, but can anyone help w/this mark? And what kind of stone is this? TIAImageImage

Don't see any marks to indicate it was made in Mexico.
Not sure about this, but that LC mark looks a lot like one used by the American firm Liz Claiborne.

Could very well be! It came in a box with a bunch of other Mexican stuff so I just assumed ! And it never occurred to me that that was an "LC" - it just looked like a symbol to me! Thanks much!

Hi,
Not very familiar with Claiborne jewelry, but know it is large scale production work. Everything about your piece is indicative of late period (post 1970) Native American work of the Southwest, probably Navajo. The italic sterling stamp is commercially available, but for some reason, is most often seen on work from that area.
Regards, Tom

Thanks so much! I had seen that this was moved to the Native American forum, so did a bit of research and you guys seem right on the money - again! (admin edit) I'm so glad I found this site!
