18th Century French Gold Maker's Mark

Hi All,

Really hoping someone might be able to help identify a gold maker's mark for me from this snuff box I have inherited. It's solid 18k gold mounting and detailing with lacquer outside and tortoiseshell inside.

I can see it is made in Paris in 1766-1767 from the crossed laurel branches, hounds head, and the crowned C, but the maker's mark has stumped me.

When I view it I can see a J and perhaps an L or D??? but not sure of the second letter, with a star as the symbol. Based on the placement of letters and the star I thought there might likely be a third letter but I am no expert.

Would love to hear your thoughts!!

Thanks in advance - I have uploaded the pics I took at the below link as found it hard to load on here sorry
