Knives: Gibney 1844 Cox - Prince Albert

Post by Traintime »

SMP had some linked threads on early pattern confusions: https://www.smpub.com/ubb/Forum19/HTML/000938.html

Apparently, Gibney did not place a patent on the pattern but was producing it before another maker filed for one.

Sample of Knife (two of a kind) 7 3/4” solid coin (?) manufacted by Michael Gibney (M <> G) dated 1844 and retailed by John & James Cox ([J & I. Cox]):

Obviously worn with monogram largely rubbed down. Is this Prince Albert pattern? TIA
