Two seemingly related tablespoons, both I have been unable to Identify. One c. 1790, one c. 1810. Each bears a "W" surname initial, the 18th century spoon with what appears to be a 19th century monogram on the reverse side of the handle. Each hallmark flanked by similar "flowerets" and each maker initial ending in "R". These were purchased together. Lots of coincidences, I would like to identify at least one maker and I believe that identification may lead to sound speculation on who the second maker might is. Thanks!






Second, seemingly related spoon

The G•R mark is listed as unidentified on a spoon at Winterthur. The flanking marks have been found on pieces by William Hamlin, working 1810-1860 in Providence RI.
The O.R is unrecorded that I have seen, but its flanking marks are found on a number of Philadelphia pieces by various makers and retailers, all post c1800.

As a note, the "1790" on the O.R piece is a later 19th century addition.
