Weavil import mark, department of Ain, Bellegarde, town

Hi, I am trying to date an Austrian bracelet - see my other posts. The bracelet has two French silver weavil import marks for Ain, Bellegarde (as identified by the Forum, thank you). From google it seems the weavil import mark was only for gold from c 1893. So my question is whether I can confidently date my piece to before 1893? Or did small provincial assay offices continue to use the weavil mark for silver after this date, either in ignorance or error?

Thank you

Anthony

Thanks. My research says the weavil mark in an oval continued for gold only. Hence my question is could a small provincial assay office have erroneously ignored that etc such they applied an oval weavil after 1893.
