This Frisian brandy bowl has its hallmarks, as we not often see, not on the bottom of the bowl at the pedestal but on the top of the bowl.
City hallmark of Sneek, crowned date letter B of 1754, Frisian 1st standard mark, the two lions passant under a crown.

The master's mark IT is not mentioned in the existing literature about silversmiths registered in Sneek. We now know that the master's mark IT was used by Jelle Thomas. Jelle Thomas, silversmith, lived and worked as a silversmith in the village of Makkum, married Tsjitske Tjebbes on 18 June 1757 in Wonseradeel, she lived in Joure. Jelle Thomas died around 1782. Master's mark IT in oval, affiliated with the silver & gold guild, in Sneek.

Townmark of Sneek, three superposed crowns and as of 1749 in a crowned shield.
