I bought this teacaddy as maked by Anthony de Rooy in 1734, Amsterdam. Correct? :)

The reason why I bought it was the enormous heraldic wapen on the caddy. Are there also experts in this group for heraldic wapens? I tried google for wapens with 6 fishes, but I do not get any hits... It would be nice if we relate this silver theacaddy to a family

Yes, ADR linked together in monogram in an oval for Anthony de Rooy, active in Amsterdam 1731-1754. He was born in Arnhem, Protestant, son of Paulus, brewer and Elisabeth Duyn. From 1731 master silversmith, died in 1754 on the Laurierstraat. Prolific large-scale tableware maker, candelabra and tobacco jars.. Town mark of Amsterdam, Lion rampant under crown, the province of Holland standard mark silver 934/1000. Date letter N, based on the shape of the Amsterdam town mark and the lion rampant, for 1747.
Crowned O, later duty mark of 1807, the capital letter O, the first letter for the Dutch word 'Onbelast'= duty-free; no tax duty had to be paid.

The (family)crest three perches going upwards, and the monogram BHE(?)under a baron's crown. I will move you to our Family Crest section, let us wait for a reply with relevant information. Cheers,

Peter.
