Austrian Bread Shovel from Pest

Post by ShinySpoon »

Hello everyone,
Does anyone have any insights into who might be the maker of this shovel? Additionally, am I correct in assuming that this is a type of bread or pastry shovel.

Based on my understanding, this shovel was likely made sometime between 1867 and 1873 in the city of Pest, prior to its unification with Buda to form Budapest.
I also have a question regarding the hallmarks: both have been stamped twice. Could this be because the initial marks weren’t clear enough, or might there be other reasons for this (e.g., tax-related requirements or similar)?
Thank you in advance for any help or insights!
Best regards,
David

Sorry, I uploaded wrong photos (and can't see a way to change them). So here are the photos of the shovel:
