Hello.
I have a silver handbag. I have absolutely no idea where or by whom it was manufactured. I'm looking for suggestions in which direction to start my search.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Arthur, welcome to the forum.
These are Dutch hallmarks on a silver purse bracket.
Your image, from left to right, Minerva head or assay office mark, with the regional assay office letter M in its helmetĀ for the city of Schoonhoven. Maker's mark G67 in a square for Cornelis Pzn van Gelderen, registered in Schoonhoven 12-5-1840 till 4-1-1873, year letter Gothic h for 1867

Thanks a lot.
I'm impressed with your knowledge. I only found out that the last sign may contain Minevra's head.
Do I understand correctly that the letters in the rectangle (in the middle of the bag's closure): "?.d.V", have nothing to do with the manufacturer? And can only be the owner's inscription?

Yes, the letters
G.d.V has nothing to do with the manufacturer of the bracket, most likely one of the owner(s) initials

I've looked through this topic before. But due to lack of practice, I couldn't identify the hallmarks.
Thanks again for your help.
