I Thought it Would be Easy??

Post by mike martin »

Hi Folks,
I recently purchased a Masonic walking stick that was made in 2000 and mistakenly assumed that it would be easy to identify the maker as it's not exactly "antique". I've spent quite a while searching online and in my reference book but to no avail so I turn to the wisdom of this Forum, can anyone identify "NAG"?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Hi and welcome to the forum.

The easier marks to identify are the older ones as there are published references for most of the assay offices, although there are still some holes in the identification. For modern marks (which includes a fair chunk of the 20th century) there are no or few references. An identification of NAG will most likely only be possible by contacting the Birmingham Assay Office directly.
