Silver Menorah with Bizarre Looking Marks

Post by bezalel »

Hanau? Made in England or USA for export to Germany? Very 1930's Art Deco style.

Hello, the right margin of the pic of the marks seems to be cropped. Any chance of a full sharp image ? Not sure what bizarre looking means. Regards Bahner

I'm helping someone, this is not mine. He told me this was given to him by a relative which was passed down since before the war. Not from an auction. These are the photoe he gave me. It's not that important if I don't get an answer, he just wanted to know what I thought of this in terms of origin. I can't tell if it's German made or England/USA made and exported to Germany.

Hello, see nothkng that would contradict a genuinely German origin. As to the dating - I would not exclude the possibility of a more recent (after WW II) origin. This may be hard to believe, but there were workshops that made silver Judaica in Germany after the war. Regards Bahner

I agree with a possible post-war production
