A freind of mine has been trying to determine the origin of this flask:


It is roughly 4.5 inches tall, and has an old cork under the lid. We were also debating over it's use, as a perfume or ladies flask. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

The maker's mark is rubbed (and horizontal in the photo), but is definitely that of Storck & Sinsheimer of Hanau, Germany, along with two pseudo-marks frequently found on their wares. The style is typically late 19th/early 20th century. I don't think it's a flask - the lack of a locking cap, the flat bottom and the fragile glass bottle seem to rule out that possibility for me. I think it's some sort of cologne or scent bottle for a lady's vanity.
